OpenAI’s Controllership team seeks an Accounting Manager with strong general accounting foundations and hands-on intercompany experience to lead accounting and close across entities. This role is hands-on, partnering with Tax, Treasury, Strategic Finance, and Business Systems, with a focus on improving controls and automating Oracle workflows.

Based in San Francisco, CA, the position offers a hybrid work model (3 days in the office) and relocation assistance for new hires.

Competenze

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of close processes.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP including accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
• Hands-on intercompany accounting experience across entities.
• Ability to independently resolve routine and moderately complex accounting issues.
• Experience operating and improving internal controls and supporting audits.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; Oracle Fusion preferred; exposure to consolidation tools.
• Track record of process improvements, automation, and AI tools.

Mansioni

• Own the close for assigned accounting areas and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules; maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Manage intercompany accounting across entities and coordinate settlements.
• Support consolidation activities and intercompany eliminations with the lead.
• Analyze balance sheet and P&L movements; explain drivers and variances.
• Coordinate work with outsourced accounting partners and set quality expectations.
• Own internal controls documentation and assist external audits.
• Drive automation and Oracle workflow improvements with Business Systems.
