Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Global Account Manager (GAM) to lead the Upstream, Production & Exploration segments for a major energy customer. Based in Houston, you will drive multi-geography relationships and deliver strategic cloud and AI transformations with executive stakeholders.

You will partner with AWS teams, architects, and partners to craft 3-year plans, negotiate agreements, and showcase measurable ROI through concrete outcomes in the Energy & Utilities sector.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct sales or business development to C-level executives in software, cloud or SaaS.
• Experience planning, managing and closing competitive sales deals from negotiation to delivery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience presenting to executives.
• Deep understanding of Energy & Utilities industry landscape, including regulatory dynamics and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and build trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers (CxOs, VPs, Board members) across Lines of Business.
• Develop and implement comprehensive 3-year account strategies aligned to customer priorities that drive growth and maximize revenue opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal AWS teams and external partners to architect and deliver best-in-class business solutions.
• Display leadership and communicate effectively via email, phone and in-person; prepare executive briefing documents for senior executives.
• Operate with autonomy; exercise judgment in routine and complex customer engagements.
• Drive strategic pipeline creation and convert large-scale transformation programs to achieve revenue targets.
• Create executive-level value propositions tied to measurable outcomes and ROI.
• Monitor Energy & Utility industry trends to identify new opportunities for customer innovation.
• Develop case studies and reference materials highlighting successful outcomes on AWS.
• Participate and lead negotiations of legal agreements such as Enterprise Agreements and PPAs.
