SPS is looking for an Estimator responsible for delivering accurate estimates on time. Experience in the Glass, Glazing, Curtain Wall, and Metal Panels industry is required. Estimator will be paid according to experience. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Collect Bid Documents (Blueprints, Specifications, Scope of Work) from various sources such as Emails, Client FTP Sites, etc., and organize them on the company share drive for each project. Review Drawings and Specifications to determine the scope of work and required line items for each takeoff.
- Compile detailed takeoffs of all Exterior Glass, Interior Glass, and potentially Metal Panel quantities required for the project, including measurements in Square Feet, Lineal Feet, and Count.
- Collect material pricing and application instructions from multiple vendors, storing all quotes in the project file for future reference.
- Attend Jobsite Visits and Pre-Bid Meetings when required.
- Review completed takeoff with Supervisor to ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely estimates are submitted.
- Read Drawings, conceptualize the building design, and systematically measure building components.
- Monitor bid deadlines to ensure timely completion of takeoffs and organize responses to client questions or clarifications.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience in construction.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows, and Bluebeam. Ability to adapt to new software.
- Ability to read drawings, conceptualize building design, and systematically measure building components.
