Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a hands-on General Ledger Accountant to join an operationally complex organization. This role owns portions of the month-end close across revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts, and investigates accounting issues from root cause through resolution.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting a large, multi-entity, or multi-location operation such as manufacturing, distribution, or logistics, with facilities, inventory, or field operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of corporate/industry accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Broad General Ledger experience with hands-on month-end close.
• Experience posting journal entries across revenue, expenses, and balance sheet.
• Strong understanding of accrual-basis accounting.
• Experience with multiple non-cash balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate variances.
• Advanced Excel skills: INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables.
• Attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-starter with ownership and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as part of the monthly and quarterly close.
• Own meaningful portions of the month-end close and ensure timely recording.
• Support revenue and expense accounting, including accruals and adjustments.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items.
• Analyze P&L and balance sheet activity for variances.
• Investigate root causes of missing or incorrect accounting activity.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly operational and financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Assist with CAPEX accounting, asset transfers, and retirements.
• Support internal controls, GAAP, SOX, and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, IT, HR, Legal, Sales, Finance.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
