Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY USA INC. seeks a field-focused engineer to support high-voltage GIS substations across the United States. You will install, commission, and hand over equipment at customer sites, supervising field activities to ensure safe, reliable power infrastructure.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting with field personnel and subcontractors, maintaining site documentation, and ensuring safety standards across multiple active sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred but not mandatory.
• Relevant experience in engineering/construction environments, preferably in power industry.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage teams and conflicts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across all project phases including commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover.
• Oversee installation and commissioning activities for GIS substations at customer sites.
• Run troubleshooting activities involving field personnel and subcontractors.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies at all job sites.
• Coordinate and communicate internally and externally to enable smooth completion of site operations.
