Job summary

NISC is seeking a Software Development Team Lead to drive the Mapping & Staking product and cloud platform. You will mentor engineers, own development efforts, and ensure quality across web and desktop GIS applications.

The role requires strong leadership, GIS experience, and a track record in Agile environments. Hybrid work options available at multiple office locations, including Mandan, ND.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in software development, software requirements, or related technical areas.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience with GIS, ESRI or ArcGIS, preferred.
• Experience with cloud technologies/architectures, preferably AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own development efforts and productivity of the engineering team.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues.
• Coach and develop direct reports.
• Ensure quality standards and SDLC best practices.
• Provide progress reports to management.
• Collaborate across departments and divisions.
• Commit and test production code.
• Leverage generative AI tools to boost productivity and problem-solving.
• Identify and act on growth and improvement opportunities within the team.
• Set individual and team goals and assist in hiring of new employees.
• Assist Department Manager with strategic projects and technical direction.
