Job summary

xtscareers is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the United States Geological Survey (USGS) National Geospatial Technical Operations Center. You will enhance and maintain public-facing applications that deliver authoritative geographic information, stepping into existing systems to improve functionality and data presentation.

JavaScript will be core, with AWS-based workflows, Lambda, S3, and EC2 to automate data processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/SE/IT or related field with 2+ years of software or applications engineering experience.
• Strong JavaScript proficiency and maintainable code practices.
• Experience with AWS SDK and CLI and cloud data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Enhance and maintain public-facing applications for The National Map.
• Collaborate to improve data presentation and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop scalable automation and cloud-based data workflows using AWS.
• Review code and contribute to maintainable solutions.
