Job summary

Gloucester County Public Schools is seeking an assistant to help teach basketball skills, support coaching staff, and ensure safety protocols are followed. The role requires CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it, plus concussion training.

You will participate in onboarding, including eligibility checks and background screenings, and will receive a seasonal supplement paid in March. This position supports extracurricular athletic programs for students in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting in teaching basketball skills.

• Wamiliar with youth sports settings and basic first aid procedures.

Job description

• Supplement in the amount of $1,584 for the season
• Supplement is paid in March
• Knowledge of, experience in, and ability to assist in teaching the skills of Basketball
• Cover and resume optional, but preferred, and highly recommended
• Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
• Must attend concussion training;
• Satisfactory completion of all onboarding requirements prior to first day of employment, including, but not limited to:
• Documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.
• Virginia State Police/FBI criminal history background check
• Virginia Department of Social Services background check
• Tuberculosis test/screening completed within the last 12 months
• "Child Abuse and Neglect" training certificate
