Job summary

Juneau School District is seeking two part-time Elementary School Teachers in Teaching and Learning (Districtwide) to support academically gifted students and families. The role involves identifying gifted students, developing learning plans, and collaborating with regular teachers to modify curricula.

Bee coordination duties also apply. Minimum requirements include a teaching certificate and a degree in education; advanced coursework in extended learning is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
• Valid Alaska teaching certificate with endorsement.
• Six semester education credits in extended learning (gifted/talented).

Responsibilities

• Support academically gifted students and their families.
• Identify gifted students and develop learning plans.
• Collaborate with regular classroom teachers on curriculum differentiation.
• Coordinate and facilitate spelling bee and geography bee.
