Job summary

The Juneau School District is seeking an Elementary School Teacher for a part-time (.50 FTE) position at Kaxdigoowu Heen Elementary School. The role requires Alaska teaching certification and a strong foundation in early childhood best practices.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Principal, Literacy Coach, and Instructional Support Team to support reading, writing and math instruction, ongoing assessment, and family engagement while fostering a love of learning in young students.

Qualifications

• Alaska teaching certificate or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Experience with primary differentiated instructional strategies.
• Knowledge of ongoing assessment and progress monitoring.
• Strong collaboration with families and instructional staff.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Principal, Literacy Coach and Instructional Support Team on instructional strategies, assessment, curriculum and data analysis.
• Build relationships with families and staff to meet social, emotional and instructional needs of students.
• Implement and model effective reading, writing and math instruction.
• Learn and apply new instructional techniques and contribute to ongoing school improvement.
