Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a supervisor for hospitality shops at Pardee UNC Health Care. The role oversees staff and volunteers, manages purchasing and inventory, and ensures compliance with policies across gift shop operations. The position is per diem with a hybrid work arrangement.

Successful candidates will have 2+ years of supervisory retail experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong organizational skills to maintain records and inventories effectively.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years supervisory experience in retail sales, including inventory control.
• High school diploma or GED is required; a higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.

Responsibilities

• Emulates a pleasant, helpful and friendly relationship with members of the public and maintains a safe environment for employees and customers.
• Operates the register and assists customers when short staffed.
• Maintains a consistent and deliberate purchasing schedule and avoids under- or over-buying to ensure the store's bottom line profitability.
• Manages the computer inventory system.
• Maintains inventory by assessing needs, placing orders, and attending gift shows to maximize turnover.
• Maintains records for compliance with state inventory requirements and UNCHCS policies.
• Oversees daily store operations including deposits, stocking supplies, and maintaining flowers inventory.
• Trains and supervises shop personnel and volunteers; communicates policies and new products to staff.
