Job summary

Valley Health System is seeking a Gift Shop Clerk for the Volunteer Services department. This per diem role involves daily cash and card transactions, basic shop operations, and maintaining a welcoming customer experience.

You will support volunteers, assist with merchandise and displays, and help ensure a clean and organized shop environment. High school diploma required; five years retail experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and professional demeanor required.
• Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
• Experience with POS systems is preferred.
• Must communicate effectively with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Gift Shop under the Gift Shop Manager guidance.
• Process cash and card transactions; reconcile daily receipts.
• Open and close the gift shop as needed.
• Assist customers with requests and complaints promptly.
• Order flowers and prepare displays for the flower cooler.
• Support volunteer operations and provide excellent service.
• Wrap gifts and manage merchandise display.
