Job summary

The Old Globe in San Diego's Balboa Park is seeking a Part-Time Gift Shop Staff member to join our theatre team. You will open/close the shop for performances, interact with patrons, and handle cashiering and stocking tasks to ensure a welcoming retail experience.

This seasonal, part-time role requires customer service or retail experience, strong communication, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends with performances.

The Old Globe, located in beautiful Balboa Park, is seeking a Part-Time Gift Shop Staff member to join our team at San Diego’s premier regional theatre.Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, and with day-to-day guidance and direction from Gift Shop Supervisors during their shift, Gift Shop Staff are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the theatre’s Gift Shop before, during, and after performances. This role serves as a key point of contact for patrons, staff, and volunteers, helping create a welcoming, hospitable, and seamless retail experience for all guests.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Open and close the gift shop for performances and scheduled weekend daytime hoursInteract with patrons and deliver attentive, high-quality customer serviceHandle cashiering and point-of-sale transactionsManage stock, restock merchandise, set up displays and support inventory managementThe Old Globe is actively committed to fostering a culture of equity, diversity, inclusion, & access in all areas of our operation.
