Job description

The Old Globe seeks a full-time Events and Engagement Associate to assist and support the Events Director. With a budget of nearly $35million, the Tony Award-winning Old Globe, located in San Diego’s beautiful Balboa Park, is a recognized leader among American regional theatres. The Globe annually produces 15 productions, including a “Globe for All” touring program that performs in community venues throughout San Diego County.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Events Director in multiple areas, including events production, budget management, events marketing and promotion, corporate donor development, and administrative support.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and shopping for the Globe’s donor lounge, the Lipinsky Family Suite.
  • Support the Philanthropy Department in managing and executing Globe events and initiatives aimed at fostering community engagement, donor development, and corporate partnerships.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in Hospitality, Event Planning, Nonprofit, or a related field.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented with a passion for the arts, branding, community outreach, and an eye for design and aesthetics.
Benefits
  • Hourly pay range of $27.50–$30.00.
  • Full-time position with benefits including 401(k), vacation, health insurance, and holidays.
  • Must pass applicable background check.
