Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino is seeking a Gift Shop Clerk/Cashier to provide a positive guest experience through friendly service and accuracy. Responsibilities include cashiering, restocking, pricing updates, and inventory tasks, with a focus on knowledge of retail products and proper merchandise presentation.

You will work in a fast-paced gift shop adjacent to the casino, standing for shifts and supporting leadership in inventory and pricing activities. Must be 18+ and able to obtain a gaming license.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years gift shop or other retail experience preferred.
• Proficiency in inventory tracking and retail systems is preferred.
• Ability to count and have proficient math skills.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Position Summary:The Gift Shop Clerk/Cashier will ensure Guests have a positive shopping experience by observing “Winning Attitude” service standards and are performing duties according to proper procedures. The Gift Shop Clerk/Cashier is responsible for providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.Essential Functions:1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.2. Greet all Guests in a courteous and friendly manner and treat fellow Team Members with respect.3. Efficiently follow all Gift Shop best practice standards, maintain a clean work area at all times, and ensure proper merchandise presentation.4. Provide prompt and efficient responses to Guests at all times. Respond to Guest issues in a courteous and helpful way, calling a member of the Gift Shop leadership when needed.5. Follow established Gift Shop procedures.6. Operate calculator, cash register, and ticket machine.7. Perform cashiering transactions accurately and efficiently, maintaining a high level of awareness and accuracy processing each transaction.8. Maintain the Gift Shop by restocking shelves, updating pricing information, and completing inventory management tasks as directed by Gift Shop leadership.9. Maintain a thorough working knowledge of retail products, where Gift Shop merchandise is stored, and assist in retrieving merchandise from outside storage if necessary.10. Ability to climb and use a stepladder when necessary to perform functions of the job.6. Manual dexterity to use job related equipment.Work Conditions:Work is typically conducted adjacent to and in the casino, which may be hot, cold, noisy, and be in the presence of secondhand smoke. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of assigned area. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is standard. Work hours and days may be revised as company needs and workplace circumstances dictate.
