Job summary

Orlando Health Digestive Health Institute in Tampa seeks a Scheduling Coordinator to manage scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations, coordinating with physicians, patients, and surgical teams to ensure accurate time and location information.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, at least 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience, and basic computer skills. GI scheduling experience is preferred; the role may involve floating to nearby locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must complete Orlando Health medical terminology course within 90 days of hire.
• One (1) year of retail, customer service or health care.
• Computer experience required.
• Procedure scheduling experience (GI experience preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate information of department/procedure specific scheduling criteria.
• Be proactive with customers by listening and offering alternatives.
• Exhibit superb telephone etiquette and professional communication.
• Understand Orlando Health's patient-first service philosophy.
• Maintain knowledge of registration and scheduling systems and Web resources.
• Operate registration hardware and data-entry tasks as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of scheduling needs during patient screening.
• Review schedules daily and communicate changes to staff.
• Meet departmental productivity, quality, and customer service goals.
• Know ICD-9/ICD-10 and CPT codes as needed.
• Identify and resolve customer service issues or initiate follow-up.
• Adhere to Orlando Health appearance policy.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and compliance with policies.
• Communicate scheduling matters with practices and attend meetings.
• Pursue professional growth and development.
