The University of Miami invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine with a specialty in Gastrointestinal Pathology. The successful candidate will provide diagnostic service for GI pathology, participate in teaching, and engage in collaborative clinical and translational research at UMH/JMH/SCCC.

Qualifications

• Must be an M.D or D.O. board certified/eligible in AP, CP, or both.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Florida.
• Knowledge of JCAHO, CAP and CLIA regulations.

Responsabilités

• Provide patient care services at UMH, JMH and affiliated centers.
• Perform and report gross descriptions, microscopic examinations, and coding verification.
• Perform Frozen Section diagnoses as needed.
• Perform autopsies as applicable.
• Provide 24-hour call coverage as assigned.
• Participate in pathology resident/fellow education and student teaching.
• Collaborate in basic/clinical/applied research and seek grant funding.
• Engage in daily quality assurance and hospital committees.
