Job summary

University of Miami Health System is seeking an Assistant Professor of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine with a subspecialty in Gastrointestinal Pathology. The role requires MD or DO with Board Certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology, and licensure to practice in Florida.

Additional board certifications are desirable. The position emphasizes clinical duties, teaching of residents and medical students, and participation in collaborative research.

Qualifications

• Must hold an MD or DO and be Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Additional Board certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services across UMH, JMH, and Sylvester Cancer Center and satellites.
• Perform gross descriptions, tissue sampling, microscopic examinations, and reporting.
• Conduct Frozen Section diagnoses and autopsies as applicable.
• Offer 24-hour call coverage per division requirements.
• Participate in education of pathology residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Engage in collaborative research and pursue sponsored funding opportunities.
• Contribute to daily quality assurance and departmental committees to maintain accreditation.

Education

MD or DO medical degree

Board Certifications in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology

Board eligibility in AP and/or CP
