Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a GI Technician to provide technical support to physicians in the GI lab and assist patients undergoing GI procedures. The role requires setting up equipment, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with patient care before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities include equipment handling, preparing supplies, monitoring patients, and ensuring proper specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year customer service experience preferred in hospital or outpatient setting.
• GI Lab procedure room experience preferred but not required; on the job training provided.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to problem-solve related to the procedure being performed.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment, procedures, and supplies.
• Adheres to aseptic technique and safety for instruments and equipment.
• Prepares all supplies and instruments required for diagnostics and therapeutic interventions.
• Positions and re-positions patients during procedures.
• Helps monitor patients during procedures and provides pre-operative support.
• Ensures specimens are correctly handled and routed to the proper source.
• Maintains knowledge of anatomy/physiology and intraoperative medications.
