Job summary

Sanford Health in Detroit Lakes, MN is seeking a dedicated nursing assistant to support GI procedures. You will help prepare patients, transport them, and assist the physician and RN with biopsies and polypectomies, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.

You will also manage pre- and post-procedure tasks, stock supplies, and maintain clean, ready rooms. The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and GI CEUs per year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associates Program Certificate of Completion through Society of Gastrointestinal Nurses and Associates within eight months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within six months of hire.
• Six Continuing Education Units (CEU) per year; four GI-specific.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities in the care of GI patients, assisting in procedures under physician and RN supervision.
• Prepare procedure rooms, transport patients, connect monitors, and assist intra-procedure with biopsies and polypectomies; aid post-procedure patient care.
• Stock rooms, manage supplies, and ensure safe turnover and sanitation of GI procedure areas.
