SME Careers, a fast-growing AI Data Services company and subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, seeks a German Quality Assurance Lead (QAL) for remote hourly contractor work. You will review AI-generated German content and oversee trainer/QA performance to ensure high-quality outputs.

You will assess accuracy, tone, culture, and adherence to rubrics, provide precise feedback, and maintain German project documentation. Strong German and English, detail orientation, and remote-work management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in German, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near-native German proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong grasp of English to follow project guidelines and provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in German writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or related language-review workflows.
• Strong understanding of German grammar, spelling, punctuation, and cultural context.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Quality monitoring: Spot-check German items and provide ongoing feedback.
• Trainer and QA communication: Update trainers and QAs on guidelines and project changes.
• Question handling: Respond clearly to German wording questions.
• Activation management: DM inactive contributors and track availability.
• Documentation: Create and maintain German project docs and style guides.
• Onboarding and training: Run onboarding/training calls explaining expectations.
• Quality alignment: Ensure consistent adherence to German guidelines.
• Process improvement: Identify gaps and help build scalable QA processes.
