Job summary

Emerald Care Center Southwest is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing setting.

The role emphasizes geriatric care, collaboration with nurses, physicians, OT and PT, and education for residents and families. Strong communication and a patient-centered approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Oklahoma.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred through ASHA.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting encouraged.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments and resident needs.
• Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing.
• Adapt treatment techniques to meet each resident’s goals.
• Maintain accurate records of resident progress, plans, and notes.
• Communicate with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and families.
