Job summary

Emerald Care Center Midwest in Midwest City, OK is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in a geriatric population. The role emphasizes quality of life and collaborative care.

The SLP will work within the Rehab department, partnering with nurses and therapists to develop individualized plans and educate residents and families on communication and swallowing strategies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
• Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing functions.
• Adapt treatment techniques to meet the needs and goals of each resident.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, plans, and clinical notes.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, OTs, and PTs to provide holistic care.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
• Stay current with best practices and regulatory standards.
