Job summary

Emerald Care Center Southwest in Oklahoma City seeks a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in a geriatric population. The SLP will work within a skilled nursing environment, collaborating with a broad interdisciplinary team to design and implement care plans.

The role emphasizes documentation, outcome tracking, and staying current with best practices to improve residents' quality of life and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current Oklahoma licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
• CCC-SLP certification from ASHA preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing or geriatric settings desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Assessment and evaluation of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Document progress, treatment plans, and clinical notes accurately.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, therapists, and families in care planning.
• Provide education and training to residents, families, and staff.
• Adhere to facility policies and regulatory standards.
