Job summary

Emerald Care Center Southwest is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in a geriatric skilled nursing setting.

The SLP will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, document progress, and educate families and staff while upholding best practices and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Oklahoma.
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and resident needs.
• Implement and monitor therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing functions.
• Document progress and maintain accurate records of resident status and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and physical therapists to provide holistic care.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
