Job summary

Selectis Health is seeking a Speech Therapist to provide comprehensive therapy services to residents in a nursing facility. Under general supervision, you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders for an elderly population.

You will conduct evaluations, develop individualized plans, monitor progress, and maintain detailed records while collaborating with caregivers and families to support home exercise programs and overall resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy or equivalent.
• Current license in state of practice.
• Organized and detailed in work performance.
• Genuine caring for elderly and disabled in nursing facility.
• Good communication skills with self-discipline and patience.

Responsibilities

• Examines, tests, diagnoses, and administers treatments for residents with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders, and oral motor disorders.
• Performs evaluations with attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation, and auditory skills.
• Maintains communication with the resident and others regarding progress, home programs, and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
• Facilitates behavior management in residents and families as appropriate to the needs of the resident.
• Maintains records of work performed.
