Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Speech Therapy is required.
• Current license in state of practice.
• Certification in identified areas of specialization, if applicable.
• Organized and detailed in work performance.
• Good communication skills with self-discipline and patience.
• Genuine caring for elderly and disabled in a nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Examines, tests, diagnoses, and administers treatments for speech and language disorders.
• Performs evaluations focusing on receptive and expressive language, articulation, and auditory skills.
• Maintains communication with residents and others regarding progress and home programs.
• Facilitates behavior management as appropriate to the resident needs.
• Maintains records of work performed.
