Sligo Creek Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support our rehabilitation team. Working under a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help residents achieve functional independence and mobility in a geriatric setting.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, communicates well, and can lift up to 50 lbs while assisting with transfers. Collaboration with nursing and OT is essential to ensure consistent care and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited PTA program.
• Must hold or be eligible for Maryland PTA license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Compassionate, professional demeanor expected.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers.
• Excellent time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing care plans and treatment programs.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance work as prescribed.
• Observe and report residents’ progress to the supervising PT.
• Educate residents and families on exercises and mobility techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure equipment is safe.
• Collaborate with nursing, OT, and rehabilitation teams.
