Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program or equivalent is required.
• Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with patients and staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a geriatric setting.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care is essential.
• Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
• Flexibility to work Monday-Friday with no weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in evaluating and assessing patients' conditions to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Conduct therapy sessions under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to improve mobility, strength, and overall function.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
• Stay current with advancements and best practices in physical therapy.

Education

Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program

Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant

Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles and techniques
