Job summary

Miami Jewish Health in Miami is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to administer skilled PT interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, focusing on adults with geriatric needs. The role involves implementing the plan of care and coordinating with the PT and interdisciplinary team.

Required are an Associate's Degree in PTA, Florida PTA license and current BLS certification, plus 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant preferred.
• Florida licensed physical therapy assistant; current BLS certification.
• 1 year of experience in physical therapy with geriatric population preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment that aligns with the plan of care and practices within the state act.
• Implements discharge planning and ensures follow-up care is addressed and documented.
• Assesses continuation of skilled therapy per regulatory criteria.
• Reports observations to the physical therapist.
• Participates in IDT meetings and provides updates on patient progress.
• Provides supervision to rehabilitation aides and students as needed.
