Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in a behavioral health unit at UAB St. Vincent's East in Alabama.

The role includes 7:00 pm to 7:00 am shifts, with 3 12-hour nights per week and involvement in team-based, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate holds an Alabama nursing license, is BLS certified, and can perform bio-psychosocial assessments, develop care plans, and participate in treatment conferences and group sessions.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from Alabama Board of Nursing before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients according to facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments; develop nursing plan of care.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals and interventions.
• Implement nursing plan of care and co-lead group therapy sessions.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise plans with the team.
