Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for Behavioral Health - Geri Psychiatry at UAB St. Vincent's East. This full-time night position involves 3 x 12-hour shifts, providing direct patient care to adult and geriatric behavioral health patients within a team-based care model.

Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, treatment team collaboration, and group session co-leadership. A diploma in nursing and Alabama RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• BLS within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date required.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire or transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients according to facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop a nursing plan of care.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals and interventions.
• Implement nursing plan of care and co-lead group therapy sessions as assigned.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the treatment team.

Education
