Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a registered nurse to join the Behavioral Health - Geri Psych unit at UAB St. Vincent's East. This full-time night shift position offers 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with a team-focused approach to geriatric mental health care.

Provide direct patient care, conduct bio-psychosocial assessments, and participate in treatment planning and group therapy under established policies. LPN or RN licensure in Alabama and BLS within 30 days are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed RN with Alabama Board of Nursing licensure before hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop care plans.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan goals and interventions.
• Co-lead group therapy sessions and evaluate patient responses to interventions.

Education

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
