Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health unit at UAB St. Vincent's East. You will provide direct patient care on night shifts, perform assessments, and contribute to individualized care plans within a team-based model.

Responsibilities include leading group sessions, adapting plans based on patient status, and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure safe, effective stabilization and recovery for geriatric and adult patients.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; AHA or Red Cross accepted.
• Alabama RN licensure required prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments; develop care plans.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and adjust goals.
• Implement nursing care and co-lead group therapy; evaluate patient response.
