Job summary

UAB Medicine's Behavioral Health services at UAB St. Vincent's East provide 80 beds for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic mental health needs, using a team-based approach for individualized care focused on stabilization and recovery.

This Full-Time Nights RN position requires direct patient care, regular nursing assessments, and collaboration with the treatment team to implement and adjust the plan of care.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Alabama is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients according to facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop a nursing care plan.
• Lead or co-lead group therapy sessions and participate in treatment team conferences.
• Evaluate patient responses and revise care plans with the team.
