Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide daily living activities and personal care for residents under licensed supervision. The role includes helping with hygiene, feeding, and mobility, while maintaining confidentiality and accurate records.

Responsibilities also cover assisting with care plans, participating in team care activities, and supporting residents in line with the Lift Free Program. A compassionate approach to geriatric care is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English to carry out functions related to the care plans and provide appropriate resident care.
• Ability to speak English at a level residents can understand.
• Motivation and desire to work with geriatric persons.

Responsibilities

• Provides activities of daily living care to residents under licensed staff supervision.
• Treats all information about residents and family as confidential information.
• Assists in personal hygiene (bathing, shaving, clothing changes, nail care, toilet needs).
• Provides clean, dry linen and makes beds to meet resident needs.
• Encourages proper nutrition by serving food promptly and assisting with feeding when necessary.
• Performs resident treatments as assigned and within nursing scope of practice.
• Records resident information concisely, accurately, and reports changes to team Leader.
• Participates in resident care planning and follows care plans.
