Job summary

Newave Care seeks an Attending Physician to deliver comprehensive medical care for residents across long-term care, subacute/post-acute, ventilator, and behavioral health units. You will round regularly, lead multidisciplinary care teams, and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes and reduce avoidable hospitalizations.

You will also participate in collaborative care, EMR documentation, and proactive strategies to reduce transfers.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school and board certification/eligibility in relevant specialties.
• Active, unrestricted state medical license and current DEA registration.
• Experience in post-acute/long-term care, ventilator care, or behavioral health preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with NPs/APPs, nursing, rehabilitation and admin staff.
• Current BLS/ACLS certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct medical care to residents across long-term, subacute/post-acute, ventilator, and behavioral health settings.
• Perform rounds, evaluations, and timely follow-ups for continuity of care.
• Lead multidisciplinary care teams and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Manage chronic and complex conditions with appropriate modalities and rapid response to changes.
• Communicate clearly with nursing staff, patients, families, and consulting providers.
• Coordinate care with facility staff to optimize outcomes.
• Discuss goals of care and palliative options with patients and families.
