Job summary

Cadia Healthcare in Millsboro, Delaware is seeking a Part-Time Activity Aide to join our team. You will plan, organize and provide activity programs for residents to promote their well-being and social engagement.

The role includes assisting with religious programs and leisure activities, visiting bed-ridden residents, and documenting attendance and progress; high school diploma or equivalent is required and geriatric experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience and/or training with the geriatric population required.
• Long term care industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and promoting activities based on the needs/interests of the residents.
• Encourages social communication through group activities.
• Assists residents with participation in religious programs and leisure recreation.
• Visits bed-ridden residents and non-participants and provides appropriate activities.
• Documents resident attendance and participation level at activities; may assist with maintaining pertinent files and writing progress notes.
• Assists with transporting of residents to and from activity programs and meals.
• Promote staff engagement in facility-wide activities such as dress-up and theme days.
