Job summary

Ormat Technologies in Fallon, NV is seeking a Plant Operator for the Dixie Valley Power Plant. You will ensure safe and efficient operation in accordance with Plant Safety Procedures and SOPs, while monitoring equipment and responding to alarms.

The role involves controlling generation equipment during operation and maintenance, reviewing data, logging activities, and supporting planning and scheduling. Some overtime, weekends, and 12-hour shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand instructions to perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Must be able to communicate in English clearly, both written and spoken.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Proficient with email, spreadsheets and internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate power-generation equipment and machinery during normal operation, maintenance, and emergency procedures.
• Monitor meters, gauges and control boards; adjust outputs per standard protocols.
• Review operating data, troubleshoot abnormal indications and take corrective actions.
• Maintain a chronological log of plant activities and ensure production is optimized.
• Assist in planning, scheduling and updating operating procedures; perform PM tasks.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and participate in safety trainings.
