Job summary

Ormat Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Plant Operator to ensure safe, efficient operation of the geothermal power plant in Fallon, NV. You will monitor systems, respond to alarms, and take corrective actions in accordance with safety and operating procedures.

Responsibilities include equipment control during normal, maintenance, and emergency procedures, maintaining logs, and assisting with planning and preventive maintenance. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Able to understand procedures and instructions from the designated assignment.
• Must read, write and speak English at a level enabling accurate understanding and communication of job duties.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook and basic Internet use.
• Must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment safely and efficiently during normal, maintenance, and emergency conditions.
• Monitor plant systems and alarms; take corrective actions when out of specification.
• Review operating data, troubleshoot indications, and adjust parameters as required.
• Maintain logs of plant activities and follow SOPs and safety procedures.
• Assist with planning and scheduling of plant activities and procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and assist with equipment isolation and lockout/tagouts.
