Job summary

Fervo Energy in Houston, TX seeks a Maintenance Planner to own the planning and scheduling of their geothermal fleet. This role reports to the Director, Maintenance & Reliability and focuses on turning maintenance needs into fully planned, resourced work orders.

The planner will work 80/20 in planning vs scheduling, spend time in the field to understand facilities, and ensure plans are reusable across sites. Travel ~15–20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance planning and scheduling experience in an industrial, power generation, or process plant environment.
• Direct working experience with a CMMS (MaintainX, Maximo, SAP, or comparable) for work order planning, PM template management, backlog reporting and KPI management.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance concepts required to plan work generated by a reliability program.
• Experience scheduling multi-discipline maintenance work across more than one site or unit concurrently.
• Experience coordinating parts and materials lead times with a supply chain or procurement function.
• Strong written communication; job plans, schedules, and backlog reporting must be usable by people not in the room when the plan was made.

Responsibilities

• Convert preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance Work Requests into fully planned work orders in the CMMS system, including scope, parts, labor hours, and discipline requirements.
• Process Work Requests from the fleet (PM/CbM from maintenance strategy and Work Requests from Operations, Maintenance, Commissioning, Engineering, Reliability).
• Create reusable job plans by equipment type to enable cross-site use.
• Provide labor and time estimates on every plan and iterate based on tech feedback.
• Verify plans before release: parts on hand, permits identified, outage or access window confirmed with Operations.
• Maintain a 4–6 week rolling backlog of planned work across all sites, prioritized by readiness.
• Serve as fleet plant historian: maintain records of work performed and parts consumed to inform future plans.
