Job summary

Brightcore Energy, a provider of clean energy solutions, is seeking a Driller Assistant to support geothermal drilling projects. You will work with the Lead Driller to ensure safe, efficient operation, perform maintenance, and contribute to project success.

The role requires 100% travel across the Northeast region (CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD) with overtime as needed. A strong background in drilling and safety, plus a high school diploma, is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• SST Card required.
• Prior experience operating drilling equipment.
• Understands utility locate laws, safety procedures and quality regulations.
• 5+ years construction/drilling experience; NGWA certification preferred.
• Experience with geothermal heat pumps.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Driller in daily drilling operations, setting up and operating equipment.
• Monitor and maintain equipment during drilling; troubleshoot as needed.
• Travel 100% in the Northeast US (CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD).
• Handle and prepare drilling tools, pipes and other equipment.
• Transport equipment and materials to and from drill sites.
• Follow safety protocols and keep the site organized and compliant.
• Operate mud systems, pressure control equipment and related systems.
• Keep daily records of drilling activities, progress and downtime.
• Support the team with general labor tasks and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment.
• Ensure safety and environmental standards are met during all operations.
• Communicate effectively with the drilling team and report issues to supervisor.
• All other duties and projects assigned.
