Job summary

ENGEO Incorporated seeks a Staff Engineer to tackle a broad mix of geotechnical projects, mentored by senior staff and exposed to diverse challenges. You will build technical expertise, project management know-how and business development soft skills from day one.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional/relevant internship/field experience
• E.I.T certification
• Solid knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics
• Team player who enjoys problem-solving in fast-paced environments
• Desire to continually learn and grow
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical recommendations, plans and specs for private and public projects
• Perform geotechnical analysis and design of foundations, ground improvement, slopes, and retaining structures
• Assess slope stability, ground settlement and soil liquefaction using geotechnical software
• Perform static/dynamic numerical modeling with PLAXIS, FLAC and similar tools
• Conduct site investigations including borings, samples, field tests, and cone penetration tests
• Develop laboratory testing plans and soil properties for analyses and design
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, letters and drawings
• Observe foundations, ground improvement, shoring and grading during construction
• Complete field, analytical and project administrative tasks with supervision
• Learn more complex tasks with oversight from senior staff
• Support global projects by traveling to sites including Guam, New Zealand and Australia
