Job summary

ENGEO is seeking a Staff Engineer in California to work on diverse geotechnical projects. You will be mentored to develop technical expertise, project management, and business development skills while collaborating with teams across the ENGEO footprint.

The role offers exposure to a wide range of projects, mentorship, and opportunities to travel domestically and internationally to support clients and site investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree – Required; M.S./Ph.D. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Numerical modeling, seismic hazard analysis, and GIS experience are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and technical specifications for design and construction of private and public projects.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and design of shallow and deep foundation systems, ground improvement, slopes, and landslide mitigation.
• Assess stability, settlement, and liquefaction using geotechnical software.
• Perform static and dynamic numerical modeling with PLAXIS, FLAC, and other tools.
• Conduct field investigations: logging borings, test pits, sampling, cone penetration and geophysical testing.
• Observe construction of foundations, ground improvement, shoring, and grading works.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, letters, and other documents.
