Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE) seeks a Department Manager to lead its Geotechnical Services team in the Charlotte area. The role combines technical leadership, staff development, project delivery, and client service within an employee-owned firm.

You will oversee subsurface exploration, geotechnical analysis, and reporting, while managing budgets, staffing, and risk. The position offers growth to owner-level leadership and the opportunity to shape BLE's geotechnical practice in the

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering required; PE license required.
• 8+ years of geotechnical/geostructural consulting experience.
• Experience with subsurface exploration, geotechnical analysis, and construction support.
• Knowledge of Charlotte geology and local conditions preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical projects from scoping to reporting and construction support.
• Lead QA/QC and serve as final reviewer on technical deliverables.
• Manage department budgets, staffing, and project profitability.
• Develop trusted client relationships and support business development.
