Job summary

NV5 is seeking an Engineer in Training (EIT) or eligible candidate to lead multidisciplinary geotechnical projects in California. You will oversee a team of Soil/Concrete Technicians, Special Inspectors, and laboratory staff on bridges, roadways, schools, and commercial projects.

The role requires problem solving, collaboration, and travel readiness, with a CA PE license or eligibility within 6–12 months. 2+ years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or able to obtain EIT within 6 months.
• CA PE license or eligible to obtain within 6–12 months.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages special inspectors and technician staff.
• Manages projects (bridges, roadway, schools, and commercial) and associated geotechnical budgets.
• Prepares and reviews inspection and observation reports submitted to various agencies and clients.
• Oversees the preparation and submission of timely reports and maintenance of records.
• Oversees laboratory qualifications.
