Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Project Geologist / Project Engineer to support geotechnical and engineering geology services, including management of the soils laboratory, field investigations, and report preparation. The role spans lab, field, and office tasks across Northern California and the Sierra Nevada region.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7+ years of geotechnical experience, the ability to manage small projects, and strong reporting skills, with California-specific registrations or the pursuit

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–7+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering or engineering geology experience.
• Experience with soil laboratory testing and interpretation of laboratory data.
• Ability to manage field investigations, testing, reporting, and client coordination.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing.
• Coordinate drilling, sampling, and subcontractors; observe site conditions.
• Prepare geotechnical and engineering geology reports and provide construction recommendations.
