Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer I to manage geotechnical engineering and CMT projects in the United States. You will deliver work from proposal through completion on lower-complexity projects while supporting client relationships and business development.

You will develop independent project management capabilities, supervise field activities, and mentor junior staff, all while upholding ECS core values and providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related geotechnical experience.
• PE license in the state(s) where you work.
• Strong communication, written and verbal.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and deadlines.
• Knowledge of geotechnical principles and ASTM standards.
• Experience supervising field activities and report preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepares geotechnical reports with analysis and recommendations.
• Manages geotechnical and CMT projects from scheduling to delivery.
• Reviews field reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Manages budgets, change orders, invoices, and collections.
• Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals.
• Begins ownership of projects from proposal through completion.
• Supervises field activities, including drilling and testing operations.
• Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances.
• Conducts geologic research to support decisions.
• Classifies soils and assigns testing requirements.
• Mentors and supports junior staff and field personnel.
• Interfaces with clients and participates in project discussions.
• Performs other technical and project management tasks as assigned.
