Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is seeking a Geotechnical Project Engineer I to lead lower-complexity geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through delivery. You will coordinate field activities, prepare reports, manage budgets, and support client relationships and business development in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of related experience.
• Bachelors or Masters in Civil or Geological Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in each state of work.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of geotechnical principles and ASTM standards.
• Ability to interpret field and laboratory testing results.
• Developing client relationships and business development skills.
• Basic geotechnical software knowledge.
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities (developing).
• The following US Military ranks will qualify: E-6.

Responsibilities

• Prepares geotechnical reports with analysis and recommendations.
• Manages geotechnical and CMT projects including scheduling and delivery.
• Reviews field reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Manages budgets, change orders, invoices, and collections.
• Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals.
• Begins ownership of projects from proposal to completion.
• Supervises field activities including drilling and testing.
• Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances.
• Conducts geologic research and supports technical decisions.
• Classifies soils and assigns lab testing requirements.
• Mentors junior staff and field personnel.
• Interfaces with clients and participates in project discussions.
• Performs other technical and project management tasks as assigned.
