Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager I to lead geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal to completion in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare technical reports, manage budgets, and supervise field activities while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role emphasizes developing independent project management skills, adherence to ECS Core Values, and collaboration with junior staff across our geotechnical and construction materials testing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required.
• P.E. or P.G. is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations.
• Manages geotechnical and CMT projects, including scheduling, execution, and delivery.
• Reviews field reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Manages budgets, change orders, invoices, and collections.
• Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals.
• Leads projects from proposal through completion.
• Supervises field activities, including drilling and testing operations.
• Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances.
• Conducts geologic research and supports technical decisions.
• Classifies soils and assigns lab testing requirements.
• Mentors junior staff and field personnel.
• Interfaces with clients and participates in project discussions.
• Performs other technical and project management tasks.
